Michael V. Mallick Pastor

Michael, his wife Stephanie, and their two children, Gabriella and Jonah began working with Crossroads in August of 2004.  Michael and Stephanie have been married for 14 years and are both natives of Central Illinois.  Michael grew up in a small, hard working, predominately Catholic town.  Even though he vividly remembers his dad making the sign of the cross every time they passed St. Anthony's Church he was raised in an un-churched home.  It wasn't until Michael turned 21 when he gave his life to Christ.  It was a friend, while driving to Bloomington, Illinois, who shared how Christ could make a difference in his life.  Michael was so taken by the sincerity of what his friend had to say about Jesus, that very night; Michael gave his heart to Christ.

Shortly after Michael's decision the Holy Spirit began to work in his life.  He knew God was calling him into the ministry, but family pressure (to do something else with his life) kept him away from Bible College.  However, two years later, (and the Holy Spirit still working on his heart) Michael began his Bible college education at Lincoln Christian College in the fall of 1989.  While at Lincoln Christian College Michael met his beautiful wife Stephanie and the two were married on June 13th 1992.  Both graduated in the fall of 1993 and since graduating they have faithfully served the Lord in churches in Illinois, Oklahoma, and Florida.

Anyone who knows Michael knows he brings a unique perspective to ministry with his ability to share God's Word while making you smile.  Michael's deep passion is to see people grow in their faith but also sees nothing wrong with making people giggle while they do so.  God gifted Michael with the ability to make people laugh and he uses that gift well and wisely in his life and ministry.  Along with a deep passion for preaching, Michael enjoys fishing, reading, camping, and hiking (basically he loves being outdoors).  Michael is also an avid runner.  He has finished 3 marathons and numerous half marathons and 5k races.  Along with his other ambitions he enjoys writing and has authored a children's book called "Puffy" which will soon be published.  The Mallick's love the Lord, have a contagious spirit and look forward to helping people as they find themselves at "crossroads" in life.
